About David Collins:

David is a folk musician deeply routed in English history, culture and tradition. Having grown up with his dad playing guitar and singing, David decided to pick up guitar aged 16 and has never looked back. A Semi-Finalist at the BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Musician awards 2011( then David Shevelew) led to several summers of playing around the country at festivals and folk clubs. It was only study and deeply personal life events that took David away from playing for several years.

Having supported the likes of: Lucy Ward, Clive Gregson, Hanna Martin and Phillip Henry and Ewan Mclennan; David is now back playing his own mix of traditional songs, contempory lyric and his own deep and thought prevoking songs.Born and bred in London, it is the history, and that which is being made right now that drives David's lyrics.

Having studied politics, there is more than a little cynicism and sharp wit in his writting with songs that are sure to make you laugh a little but also think deeply at the same time.
